Tones were dropped at 0515hrs Tuesday, Jan. 12th on a report of a semi-truck vs. a passenger car on I-71 NB at the Oldham/Henry county line. Investigation of the incident revealed that the semi struck a passenger car that was unoccupied and parked in the emergency lane with the flashers illuminated. The impact of the crash was great enough to drive the front axle of the semi to the rear axles of the tractor. Both fuel tanks on the tractor were torn off and a large amount of fuel was spilled onto the roadway. The driver of the semi was tranported to an area hospital with non life threatening injuries. Delays are expected most of the morning hours as crews work to clean up the spill.
