Crew members assist in animal rescue

LFRD members working the green shift on Tuesday, April 3rd, were called to assist Oldham County Animal Control with the rescue of 7 ducklings from a storm drain on New Moody Lane near the Best Western Motel. "Momma Duck" stayed close by during the ordeal, but refused to be caught in the effort to relocate the family to a safer location. Reports from Animal Control Officers later in the afternoon indicate that the mother duck flew across Hwy. 53 and led officers to a nearby pond where the ducklings were released.
