A blast of artic air in the region provided 3-4 inches of snowfall and made conditions right for hazardous driving beginning early on the morning of Thursday, Jan. 7th. Slick roadways and what was described as "speeds not appropriate for conditions" resulted in 2 semi-truck jackknifes and 1 semi-truck rollover along I-71 SB that shut down all traffic several times through out the day. Numerous other accidents and the usual fire alarms sounding kept crews busy through out the course of the day. While only minor additional accumulations are being forcasted, the below freezing temperatures are expected to stick around for several days ahead.
