Oldham County Open Burn Ban Has Been Lifted

Effective 10/27/10, the Oldham County Judge Executive, Judge Murner, signed an Executive Order lifting the Burn Ban that has been in effect for the past month. The order states: "Effective immediately, the burn ban issued on September 30, 2010 is NO LONGER in effect and open burning is allowed under the provisions of Oldham County Ordinance KOC 05-320-315."

The only caveat to the lifting of this ban are the regulations mandated by the KY Division of Forestry. Forest Fire Hazard Season is from Oct. 1 - Dec. 15 and it is illegal to burn anything within 150 feet of any woodland or brush land between the hours of 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Please use caution when and where you decide to burn. Remember that the only thing allowed to be burned is natural growth (leaves, brush & tree limbs), that was produced on your property. NO TRASH is allowed to be burned at any time. This also includes construction materials.

All open burning must be reported to Oldham County Central Dispatch prior to burning. The number for Oldham County Central Dispatch is 502-222-0111.
