| After several months of preparation in complying with the necessary regulations and guidelines for live burn training, crews from LaGrange, Ballardsville, North Oldham, South Oldham and Oldham County EMS spent Saturday, April 14th at the Hwy 146 location attending a training opportunity that has been harder to come by in recent years. With ecomonic declines and fewer new housing starts, the donation of older structures that are destined for demolition have been few and far between in the area. The single family dwelling near the Kentucky State Reformatory gave the 60 plus firefigthers in attendance the opportunity to practice firefighter safety and survival skills, search and rescue techniques in addition to several different methods of extinguishing fires in a controlled environment.
