On Tuesday May 8th, 2012 members from LFRD were invited to educate Girl Scout Troop 1360, on the importance of fire safety & prevention. Engineer Jeff Darius went over the basics of stop, drop, & roll; smoke detectors, kitchen safety, and seat belt use. The group then got to see a firefighter in full turn-out gear, to get the girls familiar with what a firefighter looks like inside a house. A lot of fun was had when the group got to flow some water from Engine 4532, and get a look at all the equipment the truck carries. Thank you to Troop 1360 for having us Tuesday evening.
