Recently, LaGrange Fire & Rescue Department responded to the area of West Main Street and First Avenue on a report of fluid on the ground from a passing train going through town. Upon arrival, Car 4502 reported an oil spill on Main Street from Second Street to Cedar Street.

Crew members from Engine 4535 arrived on the scene and mitigated the situation utilizing oil dry. In addition, CSX dispatched a environmental company from Louisville to assist with the mitigation. Main Street was shut down for a period of time while the clean up was in progress.

When all the work was completed, a group on spectators insisted on a crew photo. Great job LFRD!
