Louisville, KY (April 14, 2014) - The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of the temporary closure of KY 524 (Westport Road) in Oldham County between US 42 and Smith Lane. This roadway will be closed for two weeks beginning Monday, April 21 at 9:00 a.m.

KYTC maintenance crews will be installing cross-drains underneath the roadway to intercept the flow of water draining from the hillside. They will also fill the ditch line with rock to prevent further erosion.

Local access will be allowed during this work. Through traffic must follow the signed detour via Smith Lane.

This section of KY 524 is scheduled to reopen by 9:00 a.m. on Monday, May 5.

The date and duration of work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur. Dial 511 or log on to 511.ky.gov for the latest in traffic and travel information in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
