Working car fire on Organ Creek Road extinguished with the help of mutual aid

Recently, LaGrange Fire & Rescue Department responded to the area of US 42 and Organ Creek Road on a report of a vehicle fire. While en route, dispatch advised responding units that they had received several calls from passing motorist that the vehicle was fully involved.

In addition, Campbellsburg Fire Department had also been dispatched to the call and was asked to continued due to the location of the incident.

Upon the arrival of Engine 4535, an engine company from Campbellsburg Fire Department had just arrived on the scene in which crew members had started extinguishing the flames. Crew members from Engine 4535 joined the efforts of Campbellsburg and the fire was quickly extinguished.

The owner of the vehicle indicated to fire officials that while driving he starting seeing smoke coming from the engine compartment area inwhich prompted him to pull over in a driveway to check out the situation. The owner advised that he soon realized that his truck was on fire. The owner attempted to extinguish the fire with a fire extinguisher but the flames had already grown too large.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
