The residents who were home at the time the blaze started were able to safely exit the house before the fire department arrived. Crews deployed a defensive strategy due to the fire involvement, and was also set up to provide exposure protection on both sides of the house. Crews battled the fire for approximately one and a half hours until the fire could be brought under control and overhaul operations could begin.
