LaGrange Fire & Rescue Department recently responded to a fire involving a forestry mower in a wooded area off S HWY 393 in the Buckner Area.

The operator of the machine told fire officials that while clearing land for a new subdivision he smelled smoke and then observed flames coming from the engine compartment area of the machine. The operator thought a blown hydraulic hose near the machine's engine caused the fire.

Due to the terrain and limited access, the Fire Department had to utilize forestry units to gain access to the fire location.
