KY 393 closure in Oldham County scheduled for April 21 - 24

Louisville, KY (April 14, 2017) - The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists of the temporary closure of KY 393 in Oldham County. Contract crews will be building a diversion to switch traffic over to new pavement on KY 393 near the railroad crossing approaching KY 146.

KY 393 will be closed at the railroad crossing (mile marker 5.1) between KY 146 and Commerce Parkway. This closure will begin at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 21 and work should be completed by 5 a.m. on Monday, April 24. Motorists should follow the signed detour via KY 146 and Interstate 71.

Once KY 393 reopens and traffic is switched to the new alignment, the speed limit on KY 393 between KY 146 and Commerce Parkway will be reduced to 25 mph due to a significant grade change in the pavement.

This work is part of a current construction project to widen KY 393 from two lanes to four lanes between I-71 and the railroad crossing. Completion is scheduled for summer of 2017.

The overall plan is to widen KY 393 from I-71 to the entrance of Wendell Moore Park. A portion of the roadway will be relocated east of the Oldham County Schools property and a new underpass will be built to replace the existing railroad crossing at KY 146. Construction on this second phase is currently scheduled to begin in the summer of 2018.

The date and duration of this work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur.
