On Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at approximately 09:09 AM , LaGrange Fire & Rescue Department along with Oldham County EMS responded to a report of an injury accident involving an overturned semi truck in the median on I-71 NB at the 19 mile marker.

While en route, a large column of smoke could be seen from a distance in which prompted a mutual aid alarm from South Oldham Fire Department for an engine company and Ballardsville Fire Department for tankers.

Upon Fire Department arrival a working fire was confirmed involving an overturned semi truck partially in the median and in the passing lane. Shortly thereafter, it was determined that the lone occupant of the truck was already out of the vehicle.
