On Sunday, May 21, LaGrange Fire & Rescue Department along with Oldham County EMS responded to a report of an injury accident on I-71 southbound at the 23 mile marker involving a passenger car and a box truck.

While en route, dispatch advised that the passenger vehicle involved was on fire. Upon fire department arrival, Car 4504 confirmed a working fire involving the passenger car.

Upon arrival, of Engine 4534 and Tanker 4565, the vehicle fire was quickly knocked down and extinguished.

The lone occupant of the passenger car was treated on scene by Oldham County EMS.
