Wendy's - Small Fire Behind Oven Unit
By Assistant Chief Adrian Doleman
May 15, 2008
On Thursday, May 15, 2008, LaGrange and Ballardsville fire departments responded to a report of an unknown type of fire in the kitchen of Wendy's.
Upon arrival, Car 4503 observed light smoke in the kitchen area and assumed Command.
The manager at Wendy's advised command that visible fire was observed coming from the rear of an oven unit in which an employee extinguished the fire with a dry power extinguisher just prior to fire department arrival.
The first engine to arrive, Engine 1336, was instructed by command to check the area for extension and to ventilate the structure. Fortunately, the fire was confined to the oven unit.
