By Assistant Chief Adrian Doleman
September 25, 2010
On Saturday, September 25, 2010, LaGrange Fire & Rescue Department provided one of two site locations in Oldham County to host the DEA's prescription drug "take-back" program. The drop off site was located at LaGrange Fire & Rescue Department Station 2 located at 3637 West KY 146 in Buckner.
Approximately 4,094 collection sites and 2,992 state and local law enforcement agencies participated in this first-ever nationwide program to remove potentially dangerous controlled substances from our nation's medicine cabinets.
127 residents brought in 311 pounds of medications that had either expired or were no longer being used according to solid waste director Linda Fountain.
