Day Crew & Volunteers Train in RIT
By Major Keith Smith
May 1, 2007
Both volunteers and career Day Crew members gathered Tuesday morning at the Training Center for a refresher course in RIT. Lt. Jason Hayes led the crew during the warm, humid training session of a review on knots, lifting techniques and overall Firefighter Survival. This was one of the first trainings in which both volunteers and career personnel have had the opportunity to train together. Future trainings together along with "Meet & Greets" are in process at this time.
Some of the personnel in attendance were Career Personnel Jason Long, Brian Claybern and "Conan" Stamenkovic. Volunteer personnel were Jeff Darius, Tom McCane, Bill Spicer and Bill Thomas.
