HOSE LAY TRAINING/COMPETITION
By Major Keith Smith
May 7, 2007
Regular Monday night training on 5-07-2007 consisted of a refresher course on hose lays and seating positions on apparatus. What started out as a friendly competition between crews quickly got serious! Everone likes to come in 1st place and no one cares to get drowned by an 1 3/4" attack line, but that's exactly what happened to the crews that got their water flowing last, they were attacked by the crew that had their lines in service first! Three evolutions were conducted that evening in the parking lot across from Station 1. People in town taking evening walks past the parking lot certainly were entertained by the fun, yet serious training.
