"KenDuckie Derby"
By Major Keith Smith
May 21, 2007
Part of the Monday Day Crew's duties include Public Relations appearances such as this one that was held at Centerfield Elementary School on Highway 393 on Monday afternoon.
The event was unofficially called the KenDuckie Derby and was a fundraiser for Relay for Life. Rubber ducks were sold to raise funds and were then numbered and placed in a creek that runs beside the school property. Due to the dry conditions we have experianced lately, it was necessary that additional water be supplied to the creek to help the ducks on their journey downstream. Crew members supplied the additional force with a booster line from Forestry Unit 4570.
Crew members on duty this day included:
Travis German
Dennis Tegethoff
Tom Creagh
Tory Harris
