On Friday, January 30, LaGrange Fire & Rescue Department held a retirement sendoff honoring Major Keith Smith and Major Mike Rouser, recognizing their decades of dedicated service to the department and the Oldham County community.

Over the course of his career, Major Smith dedicated 33 years of service to the department, leaving a lasting impact on fire prevention and public safety efforts within the community.

Major Mike Rouser began his service as a volunteer firefighter in 1990. Throughout his career, Major Rouser was responsible for overseeing all department fleet vehicles as well as managing operations at three fire stations within the Fire District. Major Rouser completed 35 years of service with the department.

Jim Sitzler, Fire Chief, presented both members with plaques in appreciation of their dedication, service, and sacrifice to the Fire Department.
