Zodiac Called for Mutual Aid
By Major Keith Smith
August 7, 2007
A request for mutual aid with North Oldham Fire Dept. was dispatched at approximately 1500 on Tuesday, August 7th. The dispatch requested Unit 4599, a Zodiac boat, to respond to the Westport boat ramp to assist with a water rescue on the Ohio River behind 18 Mile Island. LaGrange personnel responded and assisted with the rescue which involved a female that had become entrapped in a tree while reportedly swinging from a rope tied to a tree on the island.
