Picnic/Swim Party 2007
By Major Keith Smith
August 20, 2007
The 2007 LFRD Picnic & Swim party at the Oldham County Aquatic Center was well attended by firefighters and their familes on Sunday, August 19th. Always a favorite event, this year had plenty of the great homemade covered dishes, great burgers and hot dogs, and of course the melt in your mouth desserts that seem to go fast! A new addition to the basketball and sack races this year was what I believe will be a returning favorite, Corn Hole! The paint was barely dry on the newly constructed boards before the bags of corn started flying. Lot's of different techniques and not really sure whether anyone was crowned Corn Hole King, but I'm certain that an Official Tournament is in the works.
