Structure Fire on Hwy. 393
By Major Keith Smith
September 8, 2007
On Saturday, Sept. 9th at 1833hrs. the LaGrange Fire & Rescue Dept. and Ballardsville Fire Department were dispatched on a report of a working structure fire in the lower level of a home located on Hwy. 393 just South of I-71. Initial reports were smoke and visible fire showing. First in units pulled one 1 3/4 inch attack line to the rear of the walk-out lower level as directed by the Operations Officer. After establishing Level 1 RIT, crews entered the structure from side Charlie and reported smoke in the upper areas of the rooms, but no visible fire. Further searching found the fire was contained in a bedroom area and was out on arrival. PPV was used at the front door of the structure and a further check with Thermal Imaging Cameras revealed no extentions.
Cause of the fire is under further investigation.
