Field Fire on West Highway 524

At approximately 1425 hrs. the LaGrange Fire & Rescue Dept. along with the North Oldham Fire Dept. extinguished a working field fire in the 7800 blk of W. Hwy. 524. An area of both flat land and some moderate hill sides totaling 1.5 to 2.0 acres in size burned along with one vehicle that was apparently abandoned in the field. Crews were able to keep the fire from spreading to other vehicles in the area and one wooden structure next to the rear flank of the fire area. Two tankers, three field units and additional manpower from both departments were used to control the blaze. Cause of the blaze was undetermined.
