Train VS Truck @ 6th & Main
By Assistant Chief Adrian Doleman
October 29, 2007
On Monday, October 29, 2007, LaGrange Fire & Rescue Department along with Oldham County EMS responded to a report of a vehicle verses train.
Upon arrival, Car 4502 confirmed a collision with a train and a light truck involved. A quick size-up of the scene revealed that the only occupant of the vehicle had already extricated himself from the vehicle. The male occupant of the vehicle was complaining of chest pains and was treated and transported by Oldham County EMS.
With the arrival of Engine 4535, the crew was instructed to check and secure the truck. The crew from Engine 4532 assisted Oldham County EMS with the occupant of the truck.
It appears the truck was crossing the train tracks at 6th Avenue when an eastbound train struck the driver side of truck. The truck was pushed down the tracks approximately one block from the site of the incident.
