2nd Annual Auto Extrication Class

The Oldham County Fire Instructors Association (OCFIA) held there 2nd annual Auto Extrication Clinic on Saturday October 27, 2007. Members from North Oldham, Ballardsville, LaGrange, PeWee Valley and Mt. Washington Fire Departments participated in the 8 hour clinic. Students learned and reviewed skills from stabilizing vehicles and patient packaging, too extricating patients out of several different types of entrapments. Students and Instructors both gained a wealth of knowledge and skills from this type of class. The class was eight hours of hands on skills, cutting up more than 20 vehicles.

Oldham County Fire Instructors Association would like to give special thinks High Tech Rescue for the use of there auto extrication equipment. Burrows Wrecker Service for all their help from instructor Casey Burrows and the use of their wrecker. LaGrange Service Center for the use of their wrecker and Jimmy Sibley for all his help for running the backhoe. The backhoe was provided by Kenny Powell. Oldham County EMS for providing Paramedic Lee Parrish as an Instructor for patient packaging. We would also like to think all of the participating fire departments and students.
